My Spring Flower Subscription is open now!

Italian Ranunculus with Doris

Are you ready for a spring full of the finest, specialty, locally grown flowers? Spring is my absolutely favorite season for flowers and you can expect to receive ranunculus, tulips and fancy daffodils. Peonies will be showing up in late spring and will be part of the full 8 week subscription.

In 2024 the main way of getting my flowers locally will be through my subscription program. I’m reducing my selling days quite a bit at Umpqua Valley Farmers’ Market to give me more time to grow the best flowers possible. The actual growing of flowers is my love and I’m simplifying sales channels so I can focus on this more.

If you’re seeking a weekly supply of fresh, seasonal, fine flowers then a subscription is the best option for you. For the full details have a read of the info below and if you still have any questions send me an email.

Why buy a subscription?

A flower subscription or CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a great way to support local agriculture by investing at the beginning of the season. This helps support the farmer (me!) with upfront costs like tubers, plants, seeds, compost, soil amendments and irrigation supplies. In return for your investment you will receive the freshest, loveliest blooms coming off my local flower farm. Subscribers also often get the extra special flowers, like flowers I only grow in small amounts or new flowers I’m trialing.

My flowers are grown without harsh chemicals and synthetic fertilizers. I use goat manure from our much-loved mini herd who browse our land and give us fertility in return, as well as fish and kelp meal. I use no-till methods and try to disturb the soil as little as possible, which means loads of happy worms and healthy soil. I am a human powered farm with no tiller or tractor in sight, which also means a whole lot of weeding, shoveling and bed building by hand. All of this takes time but I aim to take care of my soil and land so I can grow healthy flowers for many seasons to come.

Fine Print

  • BIG CHANGE - NO MORE VACATION WEEKS - if you’re going out of town or unable to pick up your bouquet it’s now up to you to find someone else to pick up your bouquet for you. Or gift your week to a loved one and let them have the joy of fresh flowers for a week. Ultimately it’s up to you but I’m no longer able to carry forward any weeks or give you credit. It’s become way too much admin for me to keep track of who will be away when and I’m all about simplicity in 2024.

  • If you’re a no-show on your pick-up day I will consider your flowers a donation to one lucky individual and that will count as one of your weeks.

  • The best way to contact me is via email howlandwhistle@gmail.com.

  • By signing up to this bouquet subscription you accept that unexpected challenges happen on a farm - weather, deer, crop failures, etc. If for any reason I am unable to provide you with a bouquet I will ensure I communicate this to you in a timely manner and find a suitable remedy for the problem.

  • You also accept that there are no refunds, full or partial. If you decide you no longer want your subscription you are welcome to gift or sell the remaining weeks to someone else but you must notify me of the new recipient.
